ARCO MUSICA MANAGEMENT

ArendArend Brink became known as a classical soloist, cello lecturer and principal cellist of numerous orchestras in South Africa. In recent years he has turned with increased frequency from a purist classical approach to a combination of the latter and light music. He now performs regularly as cellist with well-known South African singers at art festivals, concerts as well as CD- and DVD-recordings.

As a classical musician he obtained the degrees B Mus from the University of Pretoria, B Mus. Hons and M Mus (cum laude) from the University of the Free State. He performed as soloist with the following orchestra’s: CAPAB-, NAPAC-, PACOFS- and the UP symphony-orchestras.

At present he is manager of Arco Musica, artistic director for shows, freelance cellist and senior lecturer at the Free State Musicon.

RichardRichard Reid is originally from Durban and gained extensive experience as a violinist playing in symphony, opera, ballet and musical orchestras locally and overseas in London, Lisbon, Belfast and Manchester. After a four year study and freelance residence in Britain he returned to South Africa to take up a post at the Free State Musicon as a lecturer in violin and guitar. He joined the Pacofs Symphony Orchestra in 1975 as a first violinist and founder member and has enjoyed the privilege of playing under conductors of the stature of Pierino Gamba, Brian Priestman and Pinchas Zuckerman on South Africa and Rudolf Kempe and Simon Tate while abroad.
He has made solo appearances with the Durban Symphony Orchestra, Consortium Musicum String Orchestra, Odeion Sinfonia String Orhestra and takes an active part in piano trio chamber music. An interest in light popular music and a training in classical guitar has broaden the scope of his performing activities.

DebbieAfter Debbie Brink completing her B. Mus (Cum Laude) at the UFS, she became more actively involved in accompanying and chamber music. She obtained a Performers Licentiate in chamber music (UNISA) as well as B. Mus Hons. (Cum Laude). She also discovered the joys (and sorrows) of teaching music to impossible teenagers! At the well known sport school, Grey College she had the opportunity to develop her conducting skills in leading the wind band; a Passion Play; and the mass choir with a professional symphony orchestra and famous South African singers at the annual Music Festival.

At the present she is a freelance conductor/composer/arranger and performer of music - in any direction - as well as the music coordinator at the Bloemfontein Baptist Church.
